Inge Norgaard was educated in Denmark where
she was born and raised. Her work has been shown in Europe, the West Indies, and
China as well as in the United States. Twice she was included in shows at the
National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. She received a Trust
Grant in 1996 for a video for the International Textile Forum in Kerson,
Ukraine, dealing with censorship in art. Her work is usually done in handspun
and plant-dyed fiber, and expresses her feeling of political oppression,
emotional and physical health and of nature and her environment.
